ING DIRECT Canada Donates Three Hundred Back Packs Filled With School Supplies - Tuesday, September 1 at 1:30 p.m. - Centennial Public School
August 27, 2009, OTTAWA, ON - Three hundred elementary school students will be carrying a new back pack, filled with school supplies, thanks to the generosity of ING DIRECT and their local Ottawa Call Centre. Canada's largest direct bank is working in collaboration with the Education Foundation of Ottawa (EFO) to remove economic barriers to successful learning.
EFO Acting Executive Officer Jane Fulton says the backpacks provide students with a strong foundation to begin the new school year. She added that every child deserves a fair chance to become successful in life. Ms. Fulton had high praise for ING DIRECT and the local office saying they approached the Foundation with a willingness to do whatever they could to make school year 2009-2010 successful for students impacted by economic uncertainty.
Students will receive the blue, red, and yellow bags on Tuesday, September 1 at 2:20 p.m. The event will take place at Centennial Public School located at 376 Gloucester Street.
